The Team Up Project

The Best of America campaign is part of the Team Up Project, a national partnership of Interfaith America, Catholic Charities USA, Habitat for Humanity International, and YMCA of the USA. Together, we are empowering people to build connections and work across differences for the common good.

From Minnesota to Hawai‘i, Lessons in Community

The “ALOHA! Team Up Project” gave three student mentors at the University Y (University of Minnesota) the opportunity to partner with students at the Atherton Y (University of Hawai‘i).

The students participated in a week-long immersion experience on O’ahu, learning from the Atherton Y College Camp team while experiencing cross-cultural mentorship. By centering their efforts on mentorship and college readiness and access, these student leaders discovered common ground and formed relationships that extended far beyond the classroom.

Juneteenth Home Build in Greenville, South Carolina

The first-ever Habitat for Humanity Juneteenth Home Build was the result of months of intentional collaboration across racial, economic, and cultural lines. This build and other initiatives, such as the organization’s Advancing Black Homeownership Project, ensure that residents can remain in their communities, even as gentrification pressures mount.

Catholic Charities of Omaha’s work is supported by The Tri-Faith Initiative, a single compound that houses a Christian church, a mosque, and a synagogue. “Breaking Bread, Building Bridges: Faith-Based Hunger Solutions” strengthened ongoing work to fight food insecurity and serve every neighbor with dignity.

Catholics, Muslims, Latter-day Saints Volunteer at Summer Camp in Santa Fe, New Mexico

The Team Up Project and Catholic Charities Santa Fe held a summer camp this year to build bridges among Muslim refugee families, Catholic Charities volunteers and staff, and members of the host site from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The five-week camp is a place to learn, share meals and build community across cultures and faiths.
